Moving to Nashville

Moving to Nashville was probably the best risk I’ve ever taken. Honestly, it was bittersweet at first, leaving friends and family. I was not sure if I was mentally ready to move 6.5 hours away from home, let alone pay bills! Leaving what was “comfortable” was the hardest part. But my life lesson for y’all is sometimes its okay to be uncomfortable, and sometimes you have to be!

So basically I got offered a job that I couldn’t turn down in June and moved in August. I enjoyed my last weekend in Charlotte with all my friends, then packed up the next week and moved to what they call, Music City.

The first few weekends I did not know anyone here. I have family that’s not too far away but no one really my age. I used all my resources to find friends. I went to Linkedin, Facebook; I looked everywhere for friends, which is another reason I am glad I moved. I’ve always been in a shell and never have been good at meeting new people. I’ve actually met a lot of new people here so far even some fellow Aggies! This is a good city to meet new people because I’ve heard that about 100 people move to Nashville every single day, so I know I’m not the only one looking for friends. I got back into dancing during my free time. Why not get back into doing something I love during this new season of my life!

Overall, Nashville is a very nice city. There is a lot of country music, which I am still getting used to but there is always something to do. It seems like I have missed so many concerts living here, Beyonce’, Drake, J. Cole and more…. This is really Music City!

There are so many local restaurants here. I’ve never really “brunched” until I got here. Sadly, most of my money has been spent on food. But then brunch turns into “After Brunch” which is like a day party at the bar. Yes even on Sundays! Completely foreign to me but I love it! Supposedly Nashville is the Las Vegas for some. I can’t really agree with that but it is cool! It’s a hot place for bachelorette parties, which is also very surprising to me. I mean there is a lot to do here, but I think I would rather be on the beach. I would definitely recommend a visit to Nashville whether you like country music or not.

Hopefully I’ll have a blog or vlog with my apartment soon. But i’m still getting my apartment together, I guess I never realized how much furnishing a whole apartment would be. Anyways stay tuned!
