Why do I recommend traveling? It’s probably one of my most fulfilling hobbies. Planning the trip, waiting for the trip and then finally flying to your destination.. I’m getting excited thinking about it. All my blogs are opionated but I found some cool facts about traveling on Buzz Feed shown below:
- Travel can help you improve your problem solving skills
- Taking a vacation can lower your risk of heart disease
- Studies show that money spent on travel makes you happier than money on material goods.
- Travel can make you more creative
- Travel has been shown to help aid those suffering from depression
- Couples who travel together have reported increased feelings of intimacy.
The reason I travel is for the experience. Each country, city and state are unique in their own ways, but international travel is the most rewarding. Living in America there are lots of people doing fairly well, but visiting countries they may not even make $5 an hour which is very humbling. You start to appreciate the multitude of things we as Americans have access to. Of course, Cancun isn’t safe outside of the tourist zone, but I still felt a glimpse of the Mexican culture. We tried different foods (Pescadillas, which is shark meat, was my favorite), listened to Spanish music, and I even learned a little more Spanish. Travel can be costly, but why spend money on material things when you can spend money on an experience. Plus it forces us to venture out of our comfort zone. And I say the best of you never grows in your comfort zone. Now do you see why travel is essential?
If you follow me on Instagram you know that my most recent trip was to Cancun, Mexico. This was my second time in Cancun. Both trips were completely different but amazing experiences. If you haven’t already take a look at my blog on my first trip to Cancun.
We stayed at the all inclusive Crown Paradise Club which offered a variety of restaurants/bar options (honestly some great, and some not so great), a comfortable clean room, and great scenery. During the trip we partied at Wet n Wild for Cancun Jumpoff, visited some local restaurants, and drove jet ski’s/ATV’s. Besides my 21st birthday in Miami this was probably one of my best trips!
